Hospice payment reform has given rise to another payment glitch — and this one could cost you.
HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor Palmetto GBA reports “an issue … with the two separate payment rates for [hospice Routine Home Care] services on and after January 1, 2016,” the MAC says on its website. “On some claims, the high rate is populating on the claim for the RHC days when the low rate should have been applied.”
Result: “Overpayments have occurred on certain claims,” Palmetto says. Research on the problem is underway.
