"Due to regulatory changes, all physicians who have not enrolled and approved and listed in PECOS or opted out of Medicare will not be able to order or refer Medicare patients for home health services or Durable Medical Equipment effective July 6, 2010. PECOS is the electronic database of Medicare providers and suppliers.

When we accessed the Medicare Ordering/Referring database this week, your name was not listed on the list. We realize it may take 4-6 weeks for the database to be updated so we are requesting a confirmation from you. More information is available if you would like us to send it.

Please check one of the following and fax back to us by (insert date), 2010:

O Go to https://pecos.cms.hhs.gov/pecos/MyEnrollments. You will get a screen titled "My Enrollments". This will have the name of the physician, the NPI number and will have the status, either approved or in progress. Print this out and fax to our agency.
