COVID-19 quality measure details come into focus. Although it’s the hectic summer season, home health agencies should be keeping an eye out for important new documents Medicare will issue in the coming days and weeks. The expanded HH Value-Based Purchasing Model quarterly Interim Performance Reports (IPRs) will hit HHAs’ iQIES folders “in the next week or so,” Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Marcie O’Reilly revealed in the July 12 Home Health Open Door Forum. Last month, CMS had confirmed IPRs would be delivered in July as scheduled (see HHHW by AAPC, Vol. XXXII, No. 23). Take action: If you don’t see a report in your iQIES folder by then, “please contact the iQIES helpdesk,” O’Reilly urged HHAs. That delivery date, if fulfilled, will mean agencies will have their IPRs in hand when CMS holds its July 27 webinar on the new reports. Other topics addressed in the forum include: Surveys now contain “reordered race response options for Question 31, so they appear in alphabetical order,” CAHPS vendor RTI says on the CAHPS website. “Vendors must implement this new format beginning with the July 2023 sample month,” it instructs. CAHPS telephone surveys also now have streamlined introductory language, noted CMS’ Lori Luria in the forum.
