New HH Heart Failure Certification Offered By AHA

If your agency specializes in treating patients with heart failure, a new certification may be of interest.

The American Heart Association “is launching the Home Health Heart Failure Certification Program which provides a framework to evaluate home health agencies against the American Heart Association science and guidelines for heart failure patients,” the organization says in a press release. The Heart Association’s standards include “program management, patient and caregiver education and support, care coordination, and clinical management,” it says.

“This certification program seeks to work with home health agencies to help guide them toward quality improvement efforts for their heart failure patients,” says Association volunteer and LHC Group Inc. director of clinical programs Kyle Lavergne in the release.
