Plus: Hospice market developments take place from coast to coast. Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health and Brentwood, Tenn.-based Compassus have agreed to form a joint venture partnership. Under the deal, Compassus will manage 10 home health agencies and 11 hospices formerly led by BSMH in Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina, and Virginia, the companies say in a release. Compassus furnishes home health, home infusion, palliative and hospice services with nearly 7,000 “teammates” and more than 270 “touchpoints” across 30 states, it says. BSMH is one of the 20 largest health systems in the country and the fifth-largest Catholic health system, it says.
Other recent deals include: In Mississippi: Hattiesburg-based Arden Hospice has acquired Mid-Delta Home Health, Arden says in a release. The newly enlarged company founded last year now covers more than 90 percent of the state through eight locations, it says on its website. In Florida: Big Bend Hospice and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare have signed an Affiliation Agreement, the nonprofits say in a release. “TMH offers existing home-based healthcare services, while BBH is a hospice and palliative care leader. Combining expertise allows BBH and TMH to provide a more comprehensive and patient-centered approach to healthcare across the Big Bend region,” they say. “BBH and TMH will jointly provide strategic guidance, with Big Bend Hospice leading operations, business development, and clinical programming,” they add. Big Bend serves eight counties in the state while TMH covers a 21-county area in Florida and Georgia. In California: Diamond Springs-based Snowline Hospice of El Dorado County has rebranded to Snowline Health, the nonprofit says in a release. The name change reflects the agency’s geographic growth and “allows the flexibility to add more needed services,” it adds. “Snowline is the same beloved community organization with the same leadership, and [has] not been sold, acquired, or merged,” emphasizes the provider that has operated since 1979.
