CMS Issues New Billing Instruction For Hospices

Starting Oct. 1, hospices need to note a billing wrinkle in the new 5010 format. In 5010, the field for 'other physician,' where hospices report the certifying physician, is mapped to three possible physician identifying fields. So hospices need to report the physician info in the 2310F loop of the claim, CMS instructs in a new transmittal and MLN Matters article.
