Take Responsibility For Your 5010 Compliance

Don't count on your vendor to see you through the 5010 transition that starts Jan. 1.  "Software vendors are not covered entities and therefore are not responsible for compliance," NAHC stresses. That means you'd better get in contact with your vendor right now about 5010 compliance, if you haven't done so yet. You'll need to determine the vendor's schedule for testing and "identify plans for troubleshooting should corrective action be needed," NAHC advises.
