Watch Out For Denials With Reason Codes 31157, 32072

If you’ve received fishy denials with physician-related reason codes, you’re not alone.
“CGS has received an increase in calls from home health providers … in regard to reason codes 31157 (HCPCS G0299 and G0300) and 32072 (ordering/referring physician),” the HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor says in a July 8 email to providers. “CGS is currently researching situations where claims are receiving these reason codes in error. Additional information will be provided as necessary.”
