Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice in Newport, Rhode Island, is undertaking “cost reduction and reorganization plans,” the Newport This Week news outlet reports. “Downsizing, outsourcing, and other cost reduction measures” are components of the plans spurred by “recent financial challenges,” the outlet says.
While “the vast majority of the agency’s 250 plus employees will remain with the organization,” about 15 jobs were cut, mostly in back office and management areas. Many of the employees who lost their jobs have been with the 72-year-old agency for many years. “These and all of our employees worked tirelessly through the pandemic, and we are forever grateful for their service,” said CEO Jennifer Fairbank.
