Home Health & Hospice Week

Industry Notes:

Updated Home Health, Hospice Info Is Now At Agencies' Fingertips.

A new year of data is now available in Medicare’s Post-Acute Care and Hospice Provider Utilization and Payment Public Use Files (PAC PUF).

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has now updated the file through 2021. The file, which CMS updates annually, “includes summarized information on services provided to Medicare beneficiaries by home health agencies (HHAs), hospices, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), and long-term care hospitals (LTCHs),” CMS says in a message to providers. “It contains information on demographic and clinical characteristics of beneficiaries served, professional and paraprofessional service utilization, submitted charges, and payments at the provider, state, and national levels.”

Plus: “The PAC PUF includes payment information at the case-mix grouping level for HHAs and IRFs,” CMS adds.
