Industry Notes:

There is some good news

There is some good news about the Medicare program's new requirement that claims must be filed within 12 months of the date of service. The one-calendar-year deadline applies only to claims with dates of service on or after Jan. 1, 2010, CMS says in a new MLN Matters article about the requirement. More details about the new requirement are in the article at www.cms.gov/MLNMattersArticles/downloads/MM6960.pdf.
