Industry Notes:

The Fix Is In For Vaccine Billing Problem

The Medicare claims system will now let you bill for the administration of a vaccine without billing for the vaccine itself, according to HHH MAC NHIC. Then: Previously, "claims were Returning to Provider with Reason Code 7FLUT when billing the administration of a vaccine without billing for the vaccine," NHIC notes. That meant providers couldn't bill for the administration of a vaccine when the vaccine was supplied at no charge. Now: "Providers may now bill for the administration only (HCPCS G0008) of a vaccine," NHIC reports. "RTP claims may be corrected and any new claims may be submitted."
