Tennessee Hospital Plans Home Care Sale

Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell, Tenn. plans to sell its home care unit, Claiborne Home Health. The hospital board decided to move forward with a sale after receiving several letters of interest in answer to their request for proposals, reports the Claiborne Progress newspaper. Attorney Steve McSween of the hospital's management company told the board that SunCrest Home Health based in Madison, Tenn. was the best choice as a buyer, the newspaper says. As part of the sale McSween said that SunCrest, which operates in six states, has agreed to take every patient discharged from the hospital, regardless of their ability to pay. And SunCrest agreed to hire Claiborne Home Health's qualified employees.
