INDUSTRY NOTES:

Take A Look At Possible New Quality Measures

Discharges, COVID-19 vaccinations appear as new QM possibilities.

It’s that time of year again — time for the National Quality Forum to consider new quality measures with its “Measures Under Consideration” (MUC) list.

This year, there are two measures for the Home Health Quality Reporting program — Cross-Setting Discharge Function Score (MUC2022-0852) and COVID-19 Vaccine: Percent of Patients/Residents Who Are Up to Date (MUC2022-0903).

A measure under the MIPS program is also related to hospice, notes the National Association for Home Care & Hospice — Ambulatory Palliative Care Patients’ Experience of Feeling Heard and Understood (MUC2022-014).

The NQF’s Measures Application Partnership (MAP) “brings together approximately 150 healthcare stakeholders representing nearly 90 private-sector organizations, as well as liaisons from three federal agencies, to provide input on performance measure selection,” NQF notes in a release about the process.
