If you are set up to vaccinate patients against COVID-19, you don’t have to worry about whether you will lose reimbursement if they are under skilled nursing facility consolidated billing, according to a recent statement from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Using its enforcement discretion for SNF bundling, the CMS “will allow Medicare-enrolled immunizers working within their scope of practice and subject to applicable state law, including … home health agencies, to bill directly and receive direct reimbursement from the Medicare program for vaccinating Medicare Part A SNF residents,” CMS says in the COVID-19 section of its website.
