Share Your Ideas On Collecting Race, Ethnicity Data More Accurately

If you’ve got thoughts on the collection of race and ethnicity data across federal agencies, the feds want to hear from you.

The U.S. Office of Management and Budget has released a Notice and Request for Comments about proposed revisions to its statistical standards for collecting and reporting race and ethnicity data. “Input from stakeholders and the public will be critical in guiding the [Federal Interagency Technical Working Group on Race and Ethnicity Standards] as it continues to refine and finalize its recommendations,” the OMB says. Comments are due by April 12.

The proposals’ goal is “ensuring that the standards better reflect the diversity of the American people,” Karin Orvis, Chief Statistician of the United States, says in a White House blog post about the revisions.
