Resubmit Claims Now That PECOS Glitch Is Resolved

Medicare has cleared up a claims system glitch that was halting providers' cash flow. "A national issue within PECOS caused the Fiscal Intermediary Shared System (FISS) to edit select claims with reason code 32018 when no termination date was found on the provider file," explains HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor Palmetto GBA on its website. "Impacted claims were returned to the provider (RTP)."An Oct. 15 system fix resolved the problem and agencies now can return (F9) the claim back to the system, Pamletto reports. "Providers that suppressed these RTP claims will need to submit new claims," the MAC points out.
