Recerts are no longer off limits.

Starting Aug. 11, you’d better get your face-to-face documentation lined up for all your claims under medical review — even if they are for recerts.

Starting on that date, “when a claim is selected for medical review, providers will be required to submit all certification documentation as well as recertification documentation,” HHH Medicare Administrative contractor CGS instructs in a recent email to providers. “CGS will review the initial certification and face-to-face documentation with every claim including a recertification.”
