Many large home care and hospice companies consider lawsuits part of the cost of doing business. But that cost may get higher when such suits are dragged out for public consumption. In a lengthy exposé published Feb. 9, The New Republic combs through a variety of fraud whistleblower suits, labor law suits and complaints, survey findings, and interviews with disgruntled employees past and present of LHC Group Inc. and its affiliated agencies including Almost Family.
Among other beefs, marketing and clinical employees say LHC unreasonably ramped up productivity expectations, according to the Republic. LHC did not comment for the story, according to the magazine. LHC did not respond to an AAPC request for comment by press time.
