Industry Notes:

Gear Up For Quality Data Reporting Resumption

You might still be in the middle of a pandemic, but your quality reporting duties are about to pick back up.

Reminder: “Both hospice and home health providers will resume quality data reporting July 1, 2020,” the National Association for Home Care & Hospice tells its members.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services had put quality reporting on hold when the pandemic began (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXIX, No. 11). Some confusion about the hold’s end date may have come from an initial announcement that it would last through September. CMS corrected the end date to June (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXIX, No. 14).

“CMS indicates it will analyze the data for each program recognizing that the [Public Health Emergency] continues and could impact the quality data submitted,” NAHC relates.

Providers that don’t submit required quality reporting data will face a 2 percent payment penalty (see related story, p. 198).
