Check out the latest updates the Occupational Safety and Health Administration made to its COVID-19 guidance on Aug. 13. Key: “Evidence has led CDC to update recommendations for fully vaccinated people to reduce their risk of becoming infected with the Delta variant and potentially spreading it to others, including by … wearing a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission,” OSHA notes on its website.
Healthcare providers generally follow the stricter OSHA COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard, the agency notes. “OSHA has determined that CDC’s guidance on healthcare settings has not changed and that the requirements of the healthcare ETS released on June 10, 2021, remain necessary to address the grave danger of COVID-19 in healthcare,” OSHA says on the ETS webpage. “OSHA will continue to monitor and assess the need for changes in the healthcare ETS each month.”
