If you care about how the feds can disseminate your data, you might want to tune in to an upcoming OIG forum.

“On May 11, 2023, the Data Foundation and the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General will host a public forum on how HHS OIG can modernize access to publicly available oversight data,” the OIG and Data Foundation say in their notice. “The forum will provide an opportunity for the data community to offer feedback to HHS OIG on ways to enhance this modernization effort,” they note.

“Open data sets and easy-to-use digital tools can prevent patient safety issues, avert fraud, and help reduce program costs by improving integrity and ease compliance,” the OIG and Data Foundation maintain. “During this public forum, we seek to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including, for example, healthcare providers, compliance professionals, and health technology companies, to gain insights on how to modernize access to publicly available oversight data.”
