You may see more patients availing themselves of hospice and home care, thanks to a new NIH website on end-of-life issues.
The National Institutes of Health’s Na-tional Institute of Nursing Research has established an end-of-life page on its NIHSeniorHealth website. NINR “supports science to assist individuals, families, and health care professionals with end-of-life symptom management and decision making,” NIH says in a release. “Our goal with this module is to help people learn what to expect during the final stage of life so they can plan ahead.”
The End of Life module at http://nihseniorhealth.gov/endoflife/toc.html “describes the physical, mental, and emotional needs of people nearing the end of life and suggests ways to maintain their quality of life, such as hospice and home care,” the release points out.
