New Claims System Glitch Strikes HHA Claims

You’ll need to sit tight if you are experiencing cash flow delays due to a claims system update-related glitch. “Palmetto GBA has identified an issue where claims received on or after January 5, 2015 are incorrectly editing with reason code 37224 — HHRG is either missing or is invalid for type of bill 32X or 33X,” the MAC explains.
Under the glitch, Home Health 32X and 33X claims are being returned to provider (RTP) with reason code 37224 in error, Palmetto reports. Palmetto has reported the issue to the FISS Maintainer and “no provider action is necessary at this time,” the MAC says. Stay tuned for further information.
