The founder of three Detroit-area home health agencies has pleaded guilty in federal court for his role in a $22 million home care fraud scheme, the Department of Justice says in a release.
Tayyab Aziz admitted to using Prestige Home Health Services Inc., Royal Home Health Care Inc., and Platinum Home Health Services Inc. to bill for services that were medically unnecessary and/or never performed; paying kickbacks to recruiters and patients; creating fictitious physical therapy documentation; and creating and submitting false records to CHAP for accreditation.
Five of six other defendants in this case have also previously pleaded guilty. Aziz awaits sentencing on March 3.
