Chicago-Area Kickbacks-For-Referrals Scheme Focus Of Settlement

An Illinois home health agency and its owner have paid $112,000 to settle kickback charges. Raquel Paragas and DR Home Healthcare in Lemont entered into the settlement agreement with the HHS Office of Inspector General to resolve allegations that Paragas offered and paid improper remuneration to a doctor in exchange for Medicare beneficiary referrals to DR, the OIG says on its enforcement actions webpage.
