MAC Punts On RCD Direction
Is no news good news when it comes to the fate of the Review Choice Demonstration, as shown in a newly issued question-and-answer from RCD contractor Palmetto GBA? Question: “Can Palmetto GBA provide clarification on what the plan is for RCD as the demonstration is ending May 2024 — are we going back to pre-RCD ways of doing business or will the demonstration become permanent? Some could have interpreted RCD as ending after the demonstration but the announcement of Oklahoma entering RCD seems to point in a different direction. Can Palmetto GBA share any information or updates with the coalition?” asks a provider in the latest Home Health and Hospice Coalition Questions and Answers issued Nov. 1. Answer: “As of this date, Palmetto GBA has received no direction or information of the status of RCD after May 2024. We will update when information is available,” the Medicare Administrative Contractor says in the Q&As from the Oct. 9 Coalition meeting.
