Long Island's North Shore University

Long Island's North Shore University Hospital has agreed to purchase New York City's Saint Vincent's Hospital's certified home care business out of bankruptcy for $15 million, reports the Wall Street Journal. There will be a court-supervised auction that could bring higher bids, however. St. Vincent's filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April and is selling off its ancillary businesses, the Journal says. The home care unit serves patients in all five boroughs of the city and Long Island.
