Hundreds of Fiscal Intermediary Standard System Direct Data Entry users were poised to have their FISS DDE access cut off on the eve of the Sept. 30 deadline to recertify their User IDs. HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor CGS said in a Sept. 21 email to providers that “only 2,389 users out of 3,466 home health and hospice FISS DDE users” had been recertified at that time. That was up a few hundred recerts as compared to a Sept. 12 message (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXVI, No. 33). Reminder: “Failure to recertify your FISS DDE access will result in the termination of your DDE User ID. This may cause untimely filing of your hospice Notices of Election (NOEs) and an exception may not be granted,” CGS told hospices.
