Hospitals are partnering with hospices to make sure patients receive the care they need. In California: Community Regional Medical Centers has teamed with Hinds Hospice to furnish hospice services to the hospital’s inpatients, Fresno-based CRMC says on its website.
In Virginia: Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock is now partnering with Winchester-based Blue Ridge Hospice “to provide supplemental comfort care services” via its “Hospice in the Hospital” program, Shenandoah parent Valley Health says in a release. “The program makes it possible for patients who meet General Inpatient, or GIP, criteria to begin receiving hospice care services during their stay at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital,” the release explains. Valley Health has offered the program at its Winchester Medical Center since 2020.
