Hospital Sheds Home Care After Years Of Losses

Murray-Calloway County Public Hos-pital in Kentucky has agreed to sell its home health and adult day care units to Louisville-based Baptist Health, according to the Murray Ledger & Times newspaper.

“It was a tough decision, but it’s about what is best for this hospital and the community,” said hospital CEO Jerry Penner. The home health unit lost about $750,000 last year, the newspaper reports. Similar losses went back at least five years, Penner told the paper.
