Home Care Gears Up To Face Ebola

The doctor discharged Nov. 11 from a New York City hospital after recovering from Ebola won’t be the last U.S. case of the deadly virus, the White House warns. “Let’s be clear ... we’re going to see occasional additional cases of Ebola in our country,” White House Ebola czar Ron Klain told MSNBC. “This is not the last one.”

Resource: The National Association for Home Care & Hospice has formed an Ebola Task Force, chaired by infection control expert Barbara Citarella, to work on insuring that the home care and hospice community have the resources they need to deal with Ebola, NAHC says in a message to members.

NAHC has also asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Health and Human Services for guidance on appropriate protocol relative to Ebola for home care workers, the trade group says.
