The HHS Health Resources and Services Administration has awarded $13 million to “bolster nursing education and training, to grow the nursing workforce and improve access to nursing education,” HRSA says in a release. Nurses are an essential part of our nation’s health care system,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra says in the release. “Supporting nurses and other frontline health professionals providing care in our communities is critical to improving our nation’s health and wellbeing,” Becerra maintains.
“Nurses have been true heroes throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, delivering lifesaving care on the frontlines despite unprecedented challenges,” HRSA Administrator Carole Johnson says in the release. The funds will go toward programs to increase preceptor availability, among other goals.
