Much like with Hurricane Laura, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services officials are reassuring California providers they have support during the wildfires ravaging the state. “On August 28, CMS announced efforts to support California in response to wildfires across the state,” the agency says in a release. “On August 26, HHS Secretary Alex Azar declared a Public Health Emergency (PHE) in California, retroactive to August 14.” Flexibilities will mostly be the same as those offered under the COVID-19 PHE.
