HHA Files Suit Against Employees Stealing Patients

You'd better keep a close eye on your employees, or you may find yourself in the shoes of one Texas HHA. Confident Care Home Health Services Inc. in Houston has filed a lawsuit against two of its former nurses for stealing patients for their new HHA, according to the Houston Chronicle. In the suit filed March 16 in Harris County District Court against Laureano Balseiro and Gloria Gomez, Confident Care says the two RNs planned to start their own business, began disparaging Confident Care to their patients, and allegedly tried to solicit them to transfer to the nurses' new agency. At least 10 patients transferred, Confident Care claims. Confident Care seeks a temporary restraining order, damages, and court costs, reports the Chronicle.
