HH Owner Convicted Of Tax Evasion

A Wisconsin federal judge has sentenced Medicaid home health agency owner Latoya N. Joseph to eight months in prison and six months in home confinement after she pleaded guilty to tax evasion.

Joseph received more than $1.8 million from Jannah Home Health Care from 2013 to 2015, but she did not pay taxes on the income for herself or the Milwaukee agency, the Department of Justice says in a release. The total due was about $640,000, according to the DOJ.

“Failing to file tax returns when you operate a business will result in prison time and a bill for taxes, interest, and penalties,” IRS Acting Special Agent in Charge Todd Martin says in the release.
