Industry Notes:

Guide Patients With MSP Website

If you have patients who are struggling financially, you may be able to steer them to a resource for help: the Medicare Savings Programs webpage.

The page outlines the details of four MSPs: the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Program (pays Part A and Part B premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments); the Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary Program (pays only the Part B premiums); the Qualifying Individual Program (pays only Part B premium for individuals with no other Medicaid eligibility); and the Qualified Disabled and Working Individuals Program (pays only Part A premium for certain individuals under age 65 with disabilities who have returned to work).

Note that in this case, MSP does not stand for Medicare Secondary Payer. See more details at www.medicare.gov/your-medicare-costs/get-help-paying-costs/medicare-savings-programs.
