The ramp-up to COVID-19 vaccination continues, and a new treatment option is now covered. “If you intend to administer the COVID-19 vaccines when they become available, or the new monoclonal antibody bamlanivimab, especially if you intend to roster bill these codes, please download and install the new release of PC-ACE,” the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said in a Nov. 12 notice. “This release includes the coding structure, currently comprised of both a HCPCS Level I CPT code structure issued by the American Medical Association (AMA) and a HCPCS Level II code structure issued by CMS.” On Nov. 13, CMS announced “Medicare beneficiaries can receive coverage of monoclonal antibodies … with no cost-sharing during the public health emergency (PHE). CMS’ coverage of monoclonal antibody infusions applies to bamlanivimab, which received an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration yesterday.”
