CMS attempts to shed light on hospice telehealth. The winding down of the COVID-19 public health emergency seems to come with a million questions, but providers may find some answers in a new frequently asked question set.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a new FAQ set on April 27 at www.cms.gov/files/document/frequently-asked-questions-cms-waivers-flexibilities-and-end-covid-19-public-health-emergency.pdf. “The FAQs will help you prepare for the expiration of the COVID-19 PHE and are relevant for all CMS programs,” CMS says in its message about the new set. For example: Question 13 addresses telehealth visits for hospice. And Question 6 confirms that CMS will continue to pay an extra $36 for at-home COVID vaccinations through the end of 2023.
