If you’d like to conduct more telehealth visits but don’t have the resources to furnish patients with equipment and connectivity, an FCC program may be able to help. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services “is working to help build awareness about the Affordable Connectivity Program” from the Federal Communications Commission, it says. “The new long-term benefit will help to lower the cost of broadband service for eligible households struggling to afford internet service,” CMS explains in a release. The ACP provides an up-to-$30 per month discount for broadband service; an up-to-$75 per month discount for households on qualifying Tribal lands; and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet purchased through a participating provider if the household contributes more than $10 but less than $50 toward the purchase price, CMS says. Information on who qualifies and how they can apply is at www.fcc.gov/acp.
