A home attendant program in New York City has to pay in the high six figures for employing an excluded individual. Make sure you don’t make the same mistake.
The Chinese-American Planning Council Home Attendant Program (CAPCHAP) entered into an $866,339.25 settlement agreement with OIG to settle allegations that CAPCHAP employed an individual, in connection with the New York State Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, who was excluded from participation in the New York Medicaid program. “OIG’s investigation revealed that the excluded individual, a personal assistant, provided items or services that were billed to New York Medicaid,” the watchdog agency says.
