Excluded CNA Costs Agency 6 Figures

Heed another reminder of why you need to check the OIG exclusions list.

Summit Management Group, doing business as Visiting Angels of Rhode Island in East Providence, has agreed to pay $158,627 to resolve allegations that it employed an individual who was excluded from participating in any Federal health care program, the HHS Office of Inspector General says on its Civil Money Penalties webpage.

“OIG’s investigation revealed that the excluded individual, a certified nursing assistant, provided items or services that were billed to Federal health care programs,” the OIG notes.
