Even though OASIS just went through a major overhaul last fall, the changes aren’t done yet.
Reminder: CMS had to put the diagnosis coding OASIS items for OASIS-C1 on hold when ICD-10 implementation got bumped from Oct. 1, 2014, to Oct. 1, 2015. Now the agency is seeking Office of Management and Budget approval for its OASIS-C1/ICD-10 form that includes the updated diagnosis coding M0 items.
You can offer comments on the form until April 24, CMS notes in a March 26 Federal Register notice. The OMB paperwork for the form change is online at www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Legislation/PaperworkReductionActof1995/PRA-Listing.html — search for “CMS-10545” in the “Filter On” box.
