The OIG is also addressing new electronic visit verification requirements in its Work Plan.

In its newly added “Use of Electronic Visit Verification Data for Medicaid Personal Care Services” topic, the OIG notes that “EVV requirements were included in the Cures Act in response to longstanding fraud, waste, and abuse concerns associated with Medicaid personal care services.” The OIG “will assess the availability and completeness of EVV data and examine how State Medicaid agencies and others use these data for program integrity purposes,” it says.
