Encompass Sale Of Enhabit Reportedly Attracts Suitors

The sale, rather than just spin-off, of Encompass Health Corp.’s home health and hospice business is looking more likely, according to a recent Reuters report. Private equity firms including Advent International and peers including Aveanna Healthcare Holdings Inc. have expressed interest in acquiring the soon-to-be named Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, according to the news service. Aveanna abandoned its $1.2 billion acquisition of Maxim Healthcare in 2020 after the Federal Trade Commission objected to the deal, Reuters reminds. Enhabit may command as much as $3 billion in a sale, the news service says.
