Two Ohio cases show why it’s important to check potential and current employees — including aides — against the OIG Exclusion database. Case No. 1: Serenity Home Healthcare Services has agreed to pay nearly $147,000 to resolve allegations that it employed a home health aide who was excluded from participating in any Federal health care program, says the HHS Office of Inspector General on its CMP webpage. The excluded aide provided items or services that were billed to Federal health care programs.
Case No. 2: Caring 4 You Home Care Services in Columbus has agreed to pay more than $43,000 to settle charges that it employed an aide that also provided items or services that were billed to Federal health care programs, the OIG says.
