Don't be surprised if your referring

Don't be surprised if your referring physicians are extra grumpy. Congress failed to avert the 21 percent reduction to Medicare physician payment rates that took effect June 1. CMS held physician claims until June 17, then directed contractors to start processing the claims in the order in which they were received. "CMS is hopeful that Congressional action will be taken to avert the negative update and will continue to monitor those actions," RHHI National Government Services notes on its website. "If Congress changes the negative update currently in effect, CMS is prepared to act expeditiously to make the appropriate changes to Medicare claims processing systems."
