Doc, Admin Owe $3M For Kickbacks

A Chicago physician and his wife must pay more than $3 million after a federal jury held them liable in a civil trial.

Boycin Medical Clinic owner Dr. Ndudi Aniemeka and his wife and clinic administrator Obiageli Aniemeka took more than $80,000 in kickbacks from home health agency Grand Home Health, as payment for Dr. Aniemeka’s referrals of Medicare patients, the Department of Justice says in a release.

The judgement involves treble damages and civil penalties, the DOJ notes.
