See whether you stick out like a sore thumb to reviewers and authorities by using new PEPPER chart data.
For both home health agencies and hospices, TMF Health Quality Institute has developed peer group charts for that provider type’s PEPPER target areas, the PEPPER contractor says. The charts are available for three categories: location, ownership type, and size (number of episodes).
“For each target area, the charts display the target area percent that is at the 80th, 50th and 20th percentile for each peer group category,” TMF explains. The charts cover episodes ending in fiscal year 2015 (Oct. 1, 2014 – Sept. 30, 2015) for hospices and in calendar year 2015 (Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2015) for HHAs. Providers can compare their Q415 target area rate/percent from their PEPPER for the target area to the peer group subcategory they consider most similar to their agency, TMF offers.
“TMF is committed to providing statistics that support providers’ efforts to identify and prevent improper Medicare payments,” the contractor says. Access the charts on the “Data” page online at PEPPERresources.org.
