Part B claims with modifier GW are getting Medicare’s Comparative Billing Report treatment.

Reminder: Modifier GW indicates the claim is for services not related to the hospice patient’s terminal condition.

The CBRs cover paid claims with dates of service from Nov. 1, 2021, through Oct. 31, 2022, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ CBR Contractor RELI Group says in materials about the report. There are 241,430 rendering providers nationwide that submitted Medicare Part B claims with a GW modifier for beneficiaries during hospice care, RELI says. The total allowed charges for these claims were over $501 million during the analysis timeframe.
